Lightbulb campaign specific GvG tournaments

Ever since the introduction of Factions and Nightfall I have missed the old GvG experience with fewer skills to choose from, without the BA ranger, splinter weapon dervishes and LoD monks. Thereby finding a GvG team is almost impossible for those who do not own all 3 campaigns and the EOtN expension while A-net always states that it should be possible to enjoy the game fully, without buying all the expensions.
However, the current GvG meta does not support this statement.

I think dat campaign specific tournaments (not restricted Proph tournaments but also Faction and Nightfall only tournaments). will greatly stimulate the creation of new builds and skill combinations. It will be fun and a challenge to find a way to win without the shock axe warrior, which can be found in almost every team. A way to escape from the all round builds that become boring to play after one billion GvG matches and to create more variation in the GW pvp realm.

The greatest problem ofcourse are the skill balances, proph skills are not in ballance as they used to be becouse they are addepted to the newer range of skills. this also counts for Faction and Nightfall skills.
Tournaments specific ballances are too complicated so this is not an option, so if anyone can find a solution for that problem, that would be awesome.

Any additions or corrections to this idea are welcome

I do favor this idea, mostly because it will turn out as a nice addition, aswell as forcing people to redesign builds (atleast for that tournament).

Also, this has been suggested a few times before, and the general census was positive towards it.

/signed. It'd be nice to bring out something different to encourage people to play around with different builds and skills.

I wouldn't suggest to have tournaments with only one campaign, but to maybe have a combination of campaigns, like Prophecies and Nightfall, or Nightfall and EotN. Limiting it to just one campaign seems like it would be too restrictive.

/notsigned because:

1. I may be in favor of campaign specific GvG, but it's too big of an overhaul to do with GW2 on the horizon

2. More GvG tournaments probably isn't a good thing, I'm getting bogged down doing 2 a month and I'm running low on excuses to get off work

no. gvgs are already spread too thin, and a complete overhaul of the skills would be needed for it to be any good. i don't see fewer skill choices and an even more limited meta as a good thing, and reworking the entire gvg tournament system just because a few people are feeling nostalgic is kinda dumb and completely unrealistic.

GVG's are spread too thin because all the leet PVP'ers left the game after NF was released and broke it.

Allowing players to play GVG with prophecies only skills would make a lot of players happy that they are no longer required to use the junk skills from NF / EOTN just to compete.

The skills wouldnt need a complete overhaul, just a rollback to what they were before the next campaign was released.

Ressurecting boon prot and allowing prophecies only GVG would be one of the best things this game could do for PVP.

*Thinks back to the golden days of playing Water flag runner with Ether Prodigy / heal party or Water Trident .... Drrrrrrrrrrrrroooooooollllllll*

It was really really epic fun during prophecies, but then PVP died a little more with each campaign release.
